MAG E-zine #25 - 2012

Dear [firstname]

2012. My early thoughts about it was that it was no big deal. 2012 had been commercially hyped into something I didn't feel would be best for our planet and her present inhabitants - Armageddon - the complete annihilation of humanity (to carry it to one obvious filmic extreme).

I can see from the Armageddon perspective by those who have a great affinity to the Old.  If their lifestyle had to be given up/taken away, it would feel like total destruction.  If that was where I were to come from, I would feel sad, and fearful as well.

Armageddon - The Ultimate Light Show

Now, when I think about 2012 (they say the big day is December 21st 2012, this Winter Solstice),  I don't see total physical destruction, but I sure am ready for some big time cultural changes.  So how does one get ready for this big transition? I have long believed that you can't make a change in your life without giving up something Old to make room for the New.

I could go on and on about 2012, and what could be the possible changes, but I have recently been sent a URL by Greg Storozuk, an old dowsing friend who is a Past President of the American Society of Dowsers (ASD).  Greg wrote:

A good friend of mine from back East sent this to me which I'm forwarding to all those whom I consider to be "light workers". Please take the time to read this. It's important to do so. I'd be interested to hear any comments.

Carlos Barrios is the subject of the URL that Greg sent me. He is a Guatemalan who has his feet in two different  worlds - on one hand, he is an historian and anthropologist, AND on the other, he has studied with traditional Mayan elders for over twenty-five years.  Carlos Barrios is sharing his understanding of the Mayan perspective, but he is also bringing in his academic skills. I call this "Gnowing."

I don't want to say much more.  Carlos Barros' words speak for themselves.  I don't have any hidden agenda in recommending "The Significance of 2012 to the Maya As Explained by Carlos Barrios, Mayan Ajq'ij" that appear in the Manataka American Indian Council website. When I read it, I found myself frequently saying, "Yah, that's what I think. Yah, that's how I feel."  He is not prostelitising to have us all become Mayans.  It's about how we all need to come together on higher levels to be ready for the transition to - ?Oh,-dare-I-say-it? - The New Age.

The Significance of 2012 -

So what plans do you have to celebrate this Winter Solstice - 2012?

What are you willing to give up to make room for the New?
