Stone Circles And (Cosmic) Teachers Of Humankind

I met Evgueni on the Internet, and we have been corresponding and trading books for about a year. He leads a fascinating life travelling all over Europe and Asia working at sacred sites. Speaking about the formation of human civilisation, metahistory, as well as descent of Spirit into matter one should especially consider the subject of humankind's contact with the highest planes of reality. Indeed, the body being the material incarnation of spirit also makes a being forget its own nature and lose knowledge of other, higher planes of reality1. Without their assistance it is hardly possible to break free from animal existence, the chains of natural selection and the struggle for survival.

Actually one of the most popular myths on Earth is a story about divine (cosmic) teachers of humankind. According to beliefs they descended on Earth and taught our ancestors the crafts and rudimentary magical and religious practice. And it is their coming which was the turning point for a transition from the animal state to human. In earlier times it was very popular to assume that these teachers arrived in spaceships from outer space as representatives of alien civilisations, while ancient megalithic constructions (Stonehenge, drawings in the Naska desert, pyramids, etc) are traces of their visits. However, this theory cannot stand up to any serious criticisms. Firstly, since all megalithic bear traces of the most primitive technologies it is highly unlikely that aliens used stone cutters, wooden sticks, etc. Secondly, various nations contradict each other in determining the dates of contacts with teachers. It is doubtful that guests from the outer space would pay separate visits to the Chinese, the ancient Scandinavians, the North American Indians or Africans.


Altered States of Consciousness (ASC)

At the same time it would be presumptuous to deny the very fact of such contacts, for there must be grounds for such a popular myth. Besides, the creation and usage of megalithic constructions is generally traced back to the teachers of humankind. On the other hand, even in nowadays there are numerous revelations about contacting the cosmic teachers, receiving messages or warnings from them. Such contacts usually take place in Altered States of Consciousness (ASC). Naturally the bulk of such "contact" information is amazingly boring and tedious, reminding one of newspaper editorials. But there is still left a very small part, which is strikingly unusual and original.2

All these facts give reasons to consider that legends about the teachers of humankind and space aliens are certain reflections of such forms of contact with the higher planes or reality. In other words ASC became that very catalyst which allowed a being to Cross the borderline between an animal and a human existence. Probably the first spurs to this were hallucinogenic plants, which our ancestors used for meals, this giving them a chance to experience ASC.3 Obviously the result of such trips was not much better than nowadays. In other words these contacts were mostly established with parasitic or demonic creatures from subtle planes of material world. As a result the phenomenon that today would be called a destructive channelling took place followed by physical death. However a tiny percentage of such experiences led to a contact with authentic teachers. The first knowledge they shared was about establishing and maintaining such a contact.

Indeed, by the standards of subtle planes of the material reality. The teachers are quite far away from us and the signals they emanate are weak while parasitic spirits feeding on human energy are close by and cannot wait to enter into contact, naturally taking advantage of us. Thus, taking hallucinogenic drugs or other misuse of ASC would most likely lead to such destructive contacts, which incidentally is proved by modern history of the usage of hallucinogenic substances and other drugs. As a rule this would cause the destruction of human psyche and establish various forms of destructive channelling.

That is why the strict selectivity and one-pointedness are the main conditions for contacts in ASC. In a way it reminds one of a situation with the creation of the radio. The first receivers would mainly receive discharges of lightning and other interferences blocking the useful signal. And it was only with the creation of oscillatory circuit which allowed to tune to a the necessary signal and remove more powerful interferences that it became possible to create radio and television. In the same way a similar oscillatory circuit is necessary for effective ASC activities.

Our research of the ancient megalithic constructions showed that they must be such "oscillatory circuits" and the first receivers that allowed people to establish selective contacts with subtle planes of material reality.

In the course of our experiments we conducted research of megaliths of the Northern and Southern Caucuses, Corsican megalithic complexes (1994, 1995) and Scottish constructions (1995, 1996). As a rule, a megalithic complex will include a complex system of vertically positioned stones arranged in circles, rows or as labyrinths4. The exact location of stones will correspond with main points of the celestial map (Pole star, constellations, etc.). For this reason megalithic constructions are often taken for ancient observatories.

Usually a megalithic complex will have a focus point, a certain place where different ceremonies took place. This focus point may be marked with an altar, temple or just a stone slab. So we can easily draw an analogy between "standing stones" of megalithic constructions and a well-known defraction grating, phased aerial (the device for one-pointed concentration and focusing of electromagnetic energy).


Torsion Fields

There are also other theories of stone circles operation mechanisms which are even more interesting. These theories are related to modern models of physical vacuum and concept of torsion fields. If we presume that a megalithic complex was created for focusing cosmic energies, it will become clear why positions of stones correspond to certain points of the celestial map. Besides, megalithic complexes should be in harmony with earthly energies, so arrangement of stones and location of megalithic complexes depend on landscape characteristics. According to the opinion of our colleagues from Scotland and Ireland, stone circles are usually located at the point of a sudden switch of direction of subsoil waters flow (i.e. siphon point).

Our research has also confirmed the existence of unusual field effects inside megalithic complexes. We used specially designed electronic meters that detected the slightest changes of entropy characteristics of physical fields. It turned out that in the area of stone circles, especially in the focal zones, the entropy level would go down, which is characteristic of highly biogenic places. Perhaps, this is the reason why stone circles in Scotland which are 7 to 3 thousand years old have remained intact up to now, not being destroyed by farmers. Most likely farmers feel that stone circles benefit their estates and therefore do their best to preserve them.

The study of geometrical shapes of stone circles and their location allowed us to advance a theory describing possible mechanisms of antichaotic and biogenic influence that stone circles exert upon environment.


Mantra wheel

Many centuries ago Tibetans designed a special device which is called mantra wheel. They consist of a hollow cylinder that rotates around its axis. The size of such cylinder may vary from few centimetres to several meters. Tibetans carry small mantra wheels with them, causing rotation by subtle movements of a hand. Wheels which are bigger in size are installed near temples and other religious constructions. Besides, they might be located in distant areas, faraway from human settlements. Their rotation is caused by wind or water power of nearby streams. Such mantra wheels are connected to a small turbine and will go non-stop 24 hours a day. It is necessary to mention that all mantra wheels rotate clockwise.

According to Tibetans rotating mantra wheels generate certain energy which harmonises and purifies the environment. That is the reason why they are so popular in Tibet. Of course the materialistic science regarded all stories about beneficial impact of mantra wheels as a stupid prejudice. Still, new discoveries of modern physics allow us to reconsider this presumption. Recent researches of so-called torsion fields (these fields are generated from rotation of large objects of a cylindrical and cone shape, etc.) showed that they definitely exert biological, as well as physical and chemical influence upon environment5. Moreover, now we can make a statement that a completely new kind of physical fields has been discovered and these fields are closely related to a phenomenon of spin polarisation of physical vacuum.6

So, it is quite clear that numerous mantra wheels in Tibet, Nepal, Sikkim and other countries are doing right now a very important job of harmonising and purifying invisible energy fields, a component part of the planetary biosphere. In other words, mantra wheels are special ecological devices that we can describe as "entropy pumps". They reduce chaos and disorganisation of our environment.

Still, these ancient devices contain a number of know-hows that are missing in modern spin and torsion fields generators. In the first place, these are mantras that are used as modulators of spin and torsion fields. The exact type of a mantra determines how generators affect environment. In other words, the effect depends on informational factor of radiation (that is modulated by a semantic structure of a mantra) and not its power.

The study of geometrical shapes of stone circles and their locations allows to draw up a theory describing possible mechanisms of their antichaotic and balancing influence upon environment. Talking about modern spin and torsion fields generators, rotating metal cylinders and cones went out of use long time ago. It was found out, that a vortex electromagnetic field is sufficient for producing the same effect (in general a vortex may be of any physical nature, hydrodynamic, acoustic, etc.)5. If we approach Celtic stone circles this way, we will find out they are also torsion field generators in which invisible energy vortexes" rotation takes place.

As we already mentioned, the study conducted by scientists from Scotland showed that stone circles are usually located in the Crossing of Hartman lines, with subsoil waters running under them (not to forget siphon effect). A specific shape of a stone circle causes rotation of a subsoil stream (the same way as stones in a river produce vortexes around them). It is quite clear that such an invisible vortex will be much bigger than a regular mantra wheel, so the radius of its activities will be also larger in scale.


Recumbent Stone Circles in Scotland

The stone circles which are most suitable for research are those that have a simple geometric structure. As a rule such stone circles will include several vertically positioned stones arranged in a circle. The number of stones varies from 4 to 20. They are 2 m high or even more. With Recumbent Stone rings, one of these stones is flat and it is vertically installed right between two other stones. Nearby there is a construction that resembles an altar, a certain focal point of energies.


Vortex

Here you can see a photo of a stone circle of the Eastern Circus with a computer image of a torsion field vortex. It is located not far from Aberdeen in Scotland. This circle has a slightly raised brim that is how it got it name. It was built about 3000 b.c. The flat stone and its position against other stones is quite visible in the picture. The study of this and other stones made it clear that the loWest entropy level (energy focus) is located near the above-mentioned slab, therefore it functions as a reflector that collects negaentropy (antichaotic) radiation focused by the standing stones.

The study of antichaotic effect of stone circles and their biogenic influence on environment may explain a lot about mechanisms of their impact upon human psyche. Still, the most interesting thing is the very fact of existence of such impact. The main purpose of our experiments was to study the specific features of travelling in ASC in the stone circles area.

The ASC sessions were conducted by people who have a serious background in such experiments. We paid special attention to such issues as easiness of starting an ASC session, intensity of a process, location of a subtle energy world that we contacted, how far or close it was to our reality, as well as to the nature of images and visions, originality of the information that was perceived.

The results of ASC sessions conducted in Caucuses, France (Corsica) and Scotland showed that megalithic constructions generate very unusual ASC experiences. Most of the people who participated in those sessions said that stone circles provoke very special ASC, serving as a certain shield against negative subtle energy environment which usually prevents people from getting a deep experience. Without such blockage caused by spirits of nature, demonic creatures and energetic remains of the dead the participants had a chance to start a session very easily and quickly just by relaxing themselves and without using any additional psychological technics (breathing, chakras stimulation, mantras, etc). They managed to reach distant areas of subtle energies worlds. It is quite amazing that many of their visions were related to the theme of spaceships, other civilisations, other parts of our Universe.

Undoubtedly, these researches are merely of estimating value and do not allow to make any valid conclusions. Still, they show that there is a close connection between stone circles and ASC, this making the study of megalithic constructions by transpersonal psychology methods worthwhile.


Main Points

Thus, the main points of our theory can be formulated in a following way:

  1. The contact between spiritual and material worlds is difficult and it is easier to establish it at certain locations of our planet, at certain dates, during certain positions of Earth against planets and stars.

  2. The interaction between our soul and our body is difficult most of the time, so it is very likely that the purpose of human evolution is to improve the body in such a manner that it would be easier for the soul to manage it. This process takes place in three possible ways:

  • evolution of nervous system, brain and subtle energy body structures (chakras and acupuncture channels),

  • development of behavioural and social rituals, all aspects of our existence that are not determined by genetic information, being the result of the social conditioning and cultural influence (religion, magic, philosophy).

  • creation of technical and magical devices (equipment, constructions, clothing, etc), i.e. scientific achievements that facilitate and stabilise the contact between spiritual and material worlds.

  1. Originally animals lacked spiritual qualities, as well as potential to contact higher planes of reality. Their behaviour was determined solely by the struggle for survival. Still, it looks like that the spiritual origins of our planet (manifesting in informational planes of biosphere) were pushing them along the path of evolution, making their behavioural mechanisms and energy structures more and more complicated. Animals striving to survive started to use their brains and intuition more often than teeth and muscles. Probably, the disappearance of dinosaurs, clumsy and stupid animals, may be attributed to such natural selection.

  2. The appearance of a man with his more advanced body and energy structures can be seen as another important step on the way of improving the quality of contact with the spiritual sphere. Still, the man needed special knowledge which could help him to tame his animal instincts, to achieve a more stable contact with spiritual planes and further develop his energy structures. This could become possible only if the certain conditions were provided.

  3. Obviously this is the reason behind the creation of megalithic constructions which served to people as a doorway to other realities. Most likely, originally they were built solely for usual practical purposes (as playgrounds, burial and cremation sites, outdoor "kitchens", etc). But since the mechanism of synchronic impact was already activated due to the right number of stones and their exact location, these stone circles started to generate resonate structures that exerted a stronger influence on humans who stayed there. They started to get better ideas how to build homes, hunt, hide from danger, as well as how to improve stone circles that caused such great changes in them. Stone circles stirred the intuitive knowledge that was buried inside ancient hunters and activated their psychic energy. It is quite possible, that a certain contribution to the process was made by hallucinogenic plants.

  4. As a result people learnt methods and created special devices for contacting those whom we call "teachers of the humankind". They gave our ancestors the initial knowledge that was necessary for their survival, taught them how to grow plants, tame wild animals, build houses, get a fire, etc, as well as rudimentary knowledge of religion. magic, science, arts. Naturally, this process went on for many centuries. The first megalithic constructions did not provide an effective and stable contact with teachers, as well as the energy structure of human body was underdeveloped.

Later, instead of stone circles people started to build more sophisticated religious constructions, temples. The contact with higher planes or reality became a privilege of shamans and priests. After decline and death of ancient civilisations, when religion became more of a social institution, the very tradition of contact with subtle planes of reality deteriorated. Nowadays some people spontaneously experience ASC. Unfortunately they usually build a pathological relationship with harmful creatures inhibiting other realities and not with spiritual teachers. Though these creatures would often try to pass themselves as spiritual teachers.

So, according to our theory the teachers of humankind were not strangers from outer space but teachers from subtle planes of reality, while the megalithic constructions have nothing to do with space travellers" artistic imagination and should be attributed to our ancestors who built them in accordance with knowledge obtained in ASC.

Thus, the further development of ancient devices and creation of new ones in the basis of modern technologies might be viewed as a primal goal by those who are interested in establishing a long-lasting and pure contact with teachers of humankind.

Feng Shui

Similar difficulty and frustration is described by Earnest Eitel in his account of the early British encounter with Feng Shui as practiced and reverenced in the Chinese communities that they began trading with, where all economic considerations were given lower priority than that of honouring the principles of harmonious and respectful relationship with their landscape and the numinous energies that moved through it, and in moving affected all other things.

That initial sense of alienness and unfamiliarity has remained with respect to our Western experience of Feng Shui, although now instead of a frustration at having to deal with a thing beyond logic and the rational demands of capitalism, many in the West feel compelled to explore the exotic mystery of a system working with subtle energies that can enhance every aspect of our lives, and paradoxically one of it's greatest appeals is in it's application to the business environment where it can be turned to the advantage of the corporate capitalistic world. The circle turns and the serpent swallows its tail…


Western Geomancy

Geomantic principles have been largely denied in the West, particularly at the popular level, since the political working of Christian Religion forced it either into hiding or secrecy. For many, therefore, an encounter with Feng Shui is a first experience with geomancy in any form.

Readers of these pages will be increasingly familiar with the rich tradition of geomancy in Western culture, and indeed with the understanding that all primal and indigenous cultures have a deep sense of their relationship with the earth and her subtle currents as the central component of their cosmology.

There seems to be a general difficulty however in reconciling the Eastern and Western traditions of geomancy, and many practitioners and students of the Earth Mysteries and the Neolithic and Celtic traditions in the UK feel that Feng Shui is not recognisable as part of their body of research or knowledge.

This seems to be a particular paradox, as in the very awakening of our cultures' renewed connection with earth energies, we percieve Feng Shui to be a living tradition of geomancy, but cannot see how the placement of our cash register next to our door, the positioning of a mirror behind our desk or the hanging of bamboo flute on an exposed beam has anything to do with lines of ley energy or the rising of the midSummer Sun.

How can two cultures have ended up with such radically different approaches to a similar issue?

Kipling found that East and West could indeed meet at a point beyond words - at a shared place of honour and integrity.


Similarities

We might well look in a similar fashion beyond and behind the differences of Western Earth Mysteries and Eastern Feng Shui to find a place of meeting beyond words, beyond the historical, political and cultural interpretations to a place of symbol and spirit. And there as expected we find that at core, all people who watch a Sunflower slowly unfold do indeed see the same thing.

Let us look in two places for this shared truth and wisdom - at the Eastern and Western cycles of elements, and at the fundamental cosmological mandalas that each uses to orient itself in space.


Four and Five

Students of the Western mysteries learn to percieve the esssence of the world in four fundamental forms - the forms of earth, water, air and fire. These are generally layed on a cosmological mandala or medicine wheel, and are associated with states of being and states of consciousness, with distinct experiences, processes and initiations relating to each one.

Anyone who has worked with these four to a point where they become an internalised unconscious language and a powerful set of tools and allies feels great resistance to the apparently contradictory notion of the five element system used by those in the East.

This resistance is more than the burden of learning a new language - the correspondences of the five elements of the East - water, wood, fire, earth and metal - do not seem to be near enough or share sufficient equivalents to be describing the same things - and how to fit a five point sytem into a four point sytem without loing the integrity of both ?

I have been sitting with these apparent contradictions for some time, and recently had the pleasure and priviledge of spending time with Richard feather Anderson, San Francisco-based teaacher and practitioner of geomancy embracing both the Eastern and Western traditions.

The five elements of the oriental wheel are not in fact elements as we perceive elements to be in the West.

Rather than describing fixed, cardinal states as do our four, they are describing ways in which energy moves between states.

Thus wood is the movement of energy outwards, fire is the movement of energy upwards, metal is the movement of energy inwards and water the movement of energy downwards.

Rather than placing them at the cardinal points of our wheel we might therefore place these four at the Cross-quarter points, between the fixed states of the quarters (remembering that the Celts were perhaps even more concerned with the Cross-quarters and the points of energy shift between the seasons than with the quarters at the seasonal midpoints).

Earth, the fifth of the oriental elements, or more correctly "dynamics of change" is related to the constant and inevitable movement of energy in circles and cycles, and is correctly placed in the centre of the cosmological wheel, being the pivotal hub around which all else constantly rotates.

Now we begin to see an integrtion between the two systems, particularly when we remember that our fifth Western element, ether, is also present in the centre of the wheel, informing and preceeding the four fixed states.


Wheel Orientation

But we are still left with the problem of orientation on the wheel. The Ba Gua, which is the oriental cosmological mandala used as an overlay on any site to read the relative energies present, seems not to speak closely to the Celtic or Native American medicine wheels.

This may be so at first glance, but feather was able to show me that the Eastern and Western mandalas do indeed share the same truth and wisdom.


Magic square
The Magic Square of Saturn

Firstly, both are based on the magic square of Saturn, and reveal sacred geometry to be the underlying fundamental at work.

Secondly, the Ba Gua used in site work is called the "Later Heaven Sequence" and speaks to a constantly spinning wheel of unstable and therefore living energies.

The "Former Heaven Sequence" is an earlier and more fundamental mandala that lies behind the Later Heaven Sequence, and relates to the way that things are oriented in Heaven.

This Former Heaven Sequence is in essence identical to the Celtic wheel worked with by students of that tradition, placing all the archetypal energies, seasons and states of consciousness at the same points in space and time.

What can we take from this revelation?


Universality - All Paths Are the Same Path

Firstly, great relief that all paths are the same path and that all revelations are revelations of the same fundamental truths, so whatever path you're on - providing its working for you - keep going.

For those of us working to further and promote geomancy and spiritual connectedness with landscape, the news is also encouraging. Conflicts are superficial, truth and wisdom is universal.

This very universality is perhaps the most important thing to connect with of all.

NLP practitioners know that all people access information in similar ways, with certain gestures, eye movements and postures bringing particular consciousness to the fore.

It follows that a medicine wheel or cosmological mandala is an externalised version of the way that we hold our energetic matrix around us, and that this matrix from is universal to all of life.

A New, Fresh and Universal Geomantic Paradigm

This being so, in exploring a new, fresh and universal geomantic paradigm, uncluttered by unneeded and outdated historical and political baggage we must be simple enough to appeal to all, whilst being universal in order to allow those on any path to feel its truth and applicabilty to themselves.

Sacred geometry, astronomy/astrology, and the earth energies remain the three generic fundamentals in all cosmological systems.

I encourage each one of us to seek always the simple, always the shared and always the universal in all that we do in order that we continue to dissolve boundaries and embrace our shared experience of communion with each other and all of nature, above, below, inside and outside.

The path back to the Garden of Eden is the path to unity consciousness.

(I first met Peter Champoux several years ago when he and his partner Susan Franklin came to visit me at my home in Northern Vermont. My focus on sacred space had been quite micro - the individual sites or complexes as at Avebury. Peter and Susan were talking about New England as a region - and as a sacred space, and they were finding fascinating correlations with their geometry in this much larger landscape. This application of sacred geometry and fractals on large areas of land was unfamiliar to me, but Arkhom has convinced me that there certainly is something important going on here.- Sig)

The Greek root of Geometry or Geometria means, to measure the earth. It is a grand tradition which can be applied in scale to all constructive form. Seen in everything from Sunflower to Galaxy. Arbitrary constructs have been imposed in the way of political boundaries and the dimensions of the planet have been recorded to the millimeter, however the measure of bio regions and biomes is a new use of this ancient tool. Creating a conscious interrelationship/ understanding between ourselves and our dimensional skins is seen to be fundamental to sustainable living. As a Geographical determinist it is clear to me that this relationship already exists. However with conscious understanding of this sense of Place, Space and Grace, informed daily decisions can be made that will positively effect not only our host planet but the generations that follow.

The New England Biome is an area that encompasses a large portion of the East central section of the North American continent. Stretching from Quebec City to Baltimore from the Niagara Falls to the George's Banks. It transverses state and national boundaries, includes rivers, mountains, bays , ocean, plain and sky. Within the rich heritage of this Biome can be found one of the planet's oldest geologys, the development of democracy; first by the native peoples followed by the American Revolution, the inventions of the telephone, mass use of electricity, religious thought, world trade, communication, educational advancement and research which have had a profound effect not only on this region but the entire world. The power and contribution of this place and the peoples who have lived here for a millennia is staggering.

The Geometries presented are based on fractal patterns discerned from the measure of the planet. Tracing its alignments and points- one will readily see how we, as a terrestrial biology, have unconsciously adhered to a form that has been in the process of becoming for millions of years. There are many geometrys of scale that can be found within North America and virtually the entire world. Some known and some yet to be discovered.


New England Landscape as Fractal Pattern

The term 'Arkhom' refers to this fractal New England Landscape on which we collectively sail the galaxy. It is a term which has many interpretations. It refers to a ship, a covenant, a home, the sound 'Om'. The A of Arkhom is the pattern that it is built on. A R and K, part of the runic alphabet, -when put together says " the conveyance of knowledge through Light". Stack the letters and a monument or obelisk is formed.

It is constructed out of materials that can be found anywhere in the universe, that is rock. Travel to the outer planets what do you find, rock. Travel to say the planets near Alpha Centauri, again one finds rock . Use of this material is essential to connect cosmically - universally.

As a stone mason, I attribute my work with stone directly to the understanding of landscape geometry. Rock has been one of my greatest teachers. All rock before it is manipulated and becomes Stone - has an inherent pattern, angle of fracture or fractal.

One can easily find a stone on Mt Washington, New Hampshire that mimics the mountain's shape. This self similarity, recursive spin or fractality, is the cornerstone on which can be built the understanding of and the relationship to place. It is believed that stone holds memory, certainly every rock type has its own electrical / elemental signature. Some hold charge / others do not. The rock indigenous to this region covers a full spectrum of time periods and geologic types.





Arkhome

Arkhom or the New England Biome was drawn out of the landscape through first finding a equilateral triangulation between Mt Washington New Hampshire / Mt Mansfield Vermont / and Mt Ascutney on the border of Vermont and New Hampshire.

This mountain triangle is complemented inversely by a doubling to include the water features that creates the core hexagon from which the rest of the form is generated. Bisecting the hexagon at its Northerly and Southerly point creates a 15 degree East of North orientation that forms an alignment from which the rest of the geometry is built from. This backbone is made of Shist ( metamorphic rock ) which extends from Canada to the Connecticut coast. Doubling the length of the water triangle- the points are extended to Boston ( City Hall Plaza) and to Canajoharie NY along the Mohawk river. The base line thus created by these two points delineates a cultural corridor that speaks volumes about the qualities inherent in this biome.


NE Spin

To list some of the human expressions of place one starts at the gateway to the sea and ends at the gateway to the interior. In its course it passes through: The site of the invention of the telephone in Boston, MIT, Harvard, Walden Pond, King Philips Fort (Mt. Wachusetts), Turners Falls, Greenfield, Shelburne Falls (glacial potholes), Mohawk Trail, Yankee Atomic, Hossac Tunnel, MassMoCA, Williams College, Troy New York, Shrine of the American Martyrs, and Canajoharie. All of which have made significant contributions to what has come to be known as Western culture. Events that occurred along this line shaped native / colonial relations, social/ political/ economic / environmental policy, and continues to this day. This water form geometry generates a further expansion into a twelve pointed ring which delineates and encompasses most of the major cities, seaports of New England and Eastern NY. This ring also points to major tribal zones, confluences of rivers and mountainous areas.


Further refinement of the pattern is made with the inclusion of the inner diamond and outer seven sided spin field- these structures bring into play sacred cannons of geometry which are the mechanisms that connect the form to the spiritualized Sun Moon and earth. In total the result resembles a biology likened to a Turtle or Scarab.

As all life seeks balance, so does the New England landscape. Looking at New England in total with this geometry overlaid, Cape Cod, New York Metro, and the greater Mohawk corridor are all in alignment with the Axis and Base lines. By adding three hexagons at these respective points a whirling form appears. Seeming to spin in a clockwise fashion with Long Island, like smoke from a chimney, and Cape Cod, like a bow cut, an appearance of energetic motion is given the static land. This shows a vortex liken to a hurricane, whirlpool, or tornado.

The Details

There is a tendency in our culture to be individually focused. Being confronted with this form, initially the mind tends to focus on points. To possess it, to build something, to think that it is somehow less than a spot that is a point or alignment — this, however, misses the connection. As with any sacred space be it Temple, Church, Mosque, or Grove (…or Shopping Mall) it is not the walls that make the space-- it the energy and people within, connecting with their spirit.

The geographical center point- Shelburne Falls is the site of a Peace Treaty between the Native and Colonial peoples which is still on the books. Thus this land is a place of peace. It is ironic that many of the outer points are places where battles and military installations are located. Such as the New London Sub Base, Boston, West Point, Forts Ticondaroga and Henry were all built to keep the peace (I would hope). Many of these locations are, generally speaking, unique geological features such as Monadnocks, Domes, Lenses, Water Gaps. Sections of this hexagonal forms could be identified as: Lake Chaplain, Lake Winnipesaukee, Cape Cod, Long Island, Water Gaps, Green Mountains, and Green Valleys.


Arkhome

These bio regional designations define zones whose environmental and infrastructure consideration are similar. Within these zones much more commonality exists collectively than any of the individual states that they fall within. This naturally occurring matrix is a tool that could be utilized for planning policy, implementing restorative initiatives, and Geographical -Information -System (GIS) structure.

The New England geology (land/water) create pointers that direct the eye towards the center. The Shuangunk Mts. near New Paltz point this way. The arrow formed by the MT Tom / MT Holyoke Range points the way. Rivers, Mountain ranges, highways, trails, Manhattan Island all point towards the center.

Generally there is a balancing that occurs with the geometries opposite points. An example of this is the Providence, Rhode Island area which consists of a highly populated land dominated by water -- countered by Oregon, NY in the Adirondacks an empty town on water dominated by mountains. Boston is where the Revolutionary War started and Canajoharie, New York, the battle of Stone Arabia was a turning point of the fight for American independence. The North has headwaters / the South outlets to the sea . This could go on indefinitely on both macro and micro levels. All this speaks to a natural balancing that nature is so good at. Seeing how we adhere to these perimeters without conscious understanding of this interaction, one can only imagine the positive impact on the biome if the peoples of the NorthEast community interacted consciously with our host landscape. An interconnection to the land spiritualizes our interaction with it, and may be a primary species characteristic that we have disacknowledged.

The design elements of this form can be seen in Gothic Architecture, Stonehenge, The Great Pyramids, etc... With this geometrical and energetic connection- it follows that we would be part of a sacred space and that space is our place, our highways, farms, factories, polluted rivers, cities, shopping malls, corporate complexes, and cardboard house under the overpass. We could be permanently within an inner sanctum and connected with the divine.

This spiritualization of culture, the core of Indigenous philosophy world wide, is (according to the Rio conference on the environment) the only hope for environmental sustainability. The spiritual connection to life in the biome is what Arkhom hopes to addresses. With the knowledge that our individual acts are connected collectively and that our action -without sustainable thought- does indeed impact the seaworthiness of this ship on which we all float, conscionable action theoretically should follow.


Planetary Dynamics

To be truly fractal, a pattern should be replicated on all scales. This is, in fact, the case. The same pattern is evidenced and laid out in Boston Massachusetts, NYC and the Lake District of New Hampshire.

Further proof of this imbedded fractality can be drawn out to planetary dimensions. This greater scale is generated via a harmonic progression which uses the diameter of the lesser as the radius of the greater all centered within the Arkhom geometry. Physically this fractality can be easily seen in the North American Plate.

These harmonies grow as follows:

Arkhom Baltimore to Mt Katadin Maine (diameter)

Mt Mitchell North Carolina to the Gaspe Peninsula (diameter)

New Orleans to Newfoundland's Grand Banks (diameter)

Acapulco, Mexico to Iceland (diameter)


The form is likened to a Yin / Yang symbol - half land and half water - like Arkhom spinning in a clockwise direction trailing Latin American, and pushing the Gulf of Mexico. The tail of the yin (water form) is Magnetic North. Conversely the tail of yang (earth) is in Panama Zone. The eyes are located in the Bermuda Triangle (yin) and in the Hudson Bay (yang).


Earth

The next generation Harmonic progressions extend beyond the North American plate and its fractal structure. These continued projections of Arkhom's resonant field outward from the Plate seems to resemble American influence globally. This structure to my reckoning is one of three large structures woven together to form a planetary resonant (? Could this be!?). The two others fractals are centered on Bangalore India and the South Pole. I theorize that the interaction of these three Harmonics are the resonant structures which in some manner regulate global dynamics. This statement warrants a great deal more research and dialogue. It is hoped that this sparks an interest to pursue and support this new field of study.

Do we as a species nest in the landscape via these imbedded geometries? There is evidence that culture has consistently done so for millennia in the Arkhom Biome.


The Arkhom Millennium Project (- AMP -)

Arkhom is Sacred Geometry and as such locks into our sustaining matrix of the Earth. It is as well a study of fractal geography. To this end I offer this tool as an organizing mechanism. The form could be used for collective works , expressions , ceremony, seasonal ritual and celebrations. It is already being used to fuel and organize the market machine with all narssisis, greed , misuse of collective resources and all the goodies too. As cultural creatives isn't it our responsibility to use the same mechanism to set a virus of love , creatativity, and compassion loose upon the world.

The present malaise that infects our regional and family communities is traceable to the absence of a spiritual dimension in our lives. It has been found that when real contribution can be made, one owns responsibility for its welfare. For these reasons I am attempting to catalyze the Arkhom Millennium Project. This Project is seen as a model for education, preservation, resource management and creative expression. This collective expression of cultural and natural cohesion centers around three formats; ARKhives, ARKparks, and ARKsparks.

Arkhives are a public record generated by citizens from youth to old age, will strengthen and preserve our regional heritage for perpetuity. Making this dynamic contribution to our common unity will in the process educate, synthesize, communicate, restore, advance, remember, network, promote, focus, organize and preserve our common trust.

ArkParks are geospaces, large or small, where regional events will take place. They will be zones of cooperation where: demonstrations with models of adaptive sustainability, art-in-the-park, council grounds or outright land preservation would be created.

ARKsparks are region wide community-building events that would balance and revitalize. These would be as direct as regionally based art exhibitions, or as complex as a regionally based GIS.

It is time to act cooperatively; in some respects there is more free trade/commerce and mutual cooperation treaties between countries than between the states. I suggest to you today that we use these tools to create structures that sustain and empower for seven generation to come.
